There are many myths surrounding exercises, the most common being spot reduction. None of us have a perfect body. Everyone has a unique built and a specific structure. We should ideally evaluate our strengths and weaknesses and then formulate a plan to work on our weaknesses. Some people have problems with their thighs while some think their waist size is much wider than the others. So thanks to our problematic areas, we think that spot reduction is the best way out. However, things are not so easy. Spot reduction is a myth. It is scientifically and biologically not possible to lose weight on one part of body and leave the other parts intact. In fact, the moment we start working on our body, our entire body is affected. The only difference being that the emphasis is more on some parts. For example, while doing crunches, we are mainly working on our legs and abdomen. But our torso, back and buttock also gets affected.
