Information on Health Benefits
Of Hot Tubs and Spas
Hydrotherapy is the warm water therapy
provided by Hot Tubs or Spas and it consists
of three main healing ingredients: Heat, Buoyancy and Massage. Together, they
create a holistic experience that is both relaxing and healthy. Spa
Hot Tub Hydrotherapy on a regular basis provides physical
health benefits that go much deeper than just relaxation and pleasure. Whether
you are experiencing joint or muscle pain, having trouble sleeping or are just
plain stressed out, spending time in Hot Tub Spas can provide
therapeutic benefits for just about anyone.
As medical science has advanced, there has
been an increased awareness of the benefits of this hot tub
hydrotherapy. Did you know, many medical conditions, injuries and other
health problems can be eased or improved with regular hydrotherapy treatments in
a uk hot tub or spa!? For example, people with arthritis,
multiple sclerosis, paralysis and such other conditions that may involve a
deteriorating range of motion benefit greatly from time spent in a hot tub. The
warm water helps ease aches and pains, while loosening joints and making them
easier to move and keep mobile.
Those suffering with insomnia, tension
headaches, migraines will benefit from regular use of their home hot tub or spa.
There is, reportedly, a link between improving M.E. symptoms and the use of a
hot tub, spa, jacuzzi or swim spa. People who have backaches, joint pain,
muscle pain and even diabetes and asthma will find tremendous benefit from using
a quality uk home spa or home hot
tub!
What must I think about when choosing
a uk hot tub or spa?
There are 3 main things to consider
when choosing a hot tub or spa:
-
the size of your home hot tub, spa or swim spa
-
the location - where you will site your hot tub or spa
-
the number of jets the spa or hot tub has
Size: In order to determine the size of your new uk home hot tub or
spa, you must think about how many people will use the spa at once. The
location of your hot tub will play a part in this choice. Are you having it
inside or outside? In a hot tub gazebo or on the patio? Also,
do you want a portable hot tub or portable spa - easy to
transport to a new home if you decide to move
house.
Jets:
What type of jets would you like in your home hot tub and how many? Will you
select extra jets for your hot tub? Would you like power massage jets? Volcano
jets? Pulsing jets? Neck jets? etc.

Essential Home Routines for UK Domestic
Portable Spa & Hot Tub Owners
SETTING UP AFTER (RE)FILLING YOUR
HOT TUB
- Balance your home spa's water or take a sample of your water supply to your
dealer for spa water balance recommendations.
- Check the pH and sanitizer level of Chlorine/Bromine residual prior to bathing
(irrespective of whether your home spa is fitted with an ozonator)
- Adjust pH value again, if necessary.
Information on Home Hot Tub / Spa Regular Routines
|
Daily |
Check the sanitizer level and dose as
required (irrespective of whether the spa is fitted with an ozonator). Check
pH value and dose if / as required. |
|
Weekly |
Shock spa with suitable oxidising agent
such as Nonchlorineshock or Calcium Hypochlorite. * Add spa clarifier and an
anti-foaming agent to enhance clarity and control foaming compounds if
necessary. * If you live in an area of high calcium hardness, add a dose of
descaling and / or stain control sequesterant. |
|
Monthly |
Clean your spa's filter cartridge using
a cartridge cleaner. Rebalance your spa water. |
|
Periodically |
Empty
and fill your home spa or hot tub between every month or every three months
(depending on the amount of use) to control Total Dissolved Solids. As a guide,
spa capacity in litres divided by daily bathers divided by 12 is a good
formula. E.g.: 1200 litres (capacity of hot tub) divided by 2 daily bathers
divided by 12 = 50 days. So the water would need to be changed
every 7 weeks.
|
N.B. UK home spas,
swim spas or hot tubs fitted with devices
such as ozonators will still need a residual sanitizer (Chlorine/Bromine) for
treating ongoing spa pollution.
What is the difference between a spa / hot
tub and a jacuzzi?
This is a question we get asked a lot! A Jacuzzi is a brand name
for a spa / hot tub, although we tend to use it commonly for these types of
products - like we use the word 'hoover' for a vaccum cleaner. We have a
vast range of cheap hot tubs and deluxe spas
at UK CC Sports and we would be delighted to advise you on the different
features and help you select the best model for you and your
home.
What is the difference between a spa and a swim
spa?
A spa or hot tub is a self contained round, square or rectangular
tub that people sit in whilst the water is jetted from various points around the
tub. It massages and relaxes the body whilst the gently pummelling
and swirling water around. A swim spa is even more luxury:
not only a quality uk home hot tub / spa, it also has a separate
section in which you can actually swim. Varying in swim size area, the hot
tub part is the size of a large portable hot tub but the attached swim
pool part of the swim spa allows swimming and provides current to enable the user
to have a fully challenging swim. Whether you want a uk luxury hot
tub or uk spa, or a deluxe swimspa,
we can help you, here at UK CC Sports.
